December Quote 2008
Baseball and football are very different games. In a way, both of them are easy. Football is easy if you're crazy as hell. Baseball is easy if you've got patience. They'd both be easier for me if I were a little more crazy—and a little more patient."
Bo Jackson, Raiders running back and Royals outfielder
November Quote 2008

2007 Headlines
Pee Wee Division Crowns City Champions....
In tonights city final the Riders who finished the season in 3rd place were facing the 5th place Bombers. The game started out with a bang for the Bombers as they used much of the 1st quater to orchestrate the games first major. The Bombers never looked back as they physically were more than the Riders could handle as the game went on. The Bombers were led by Mitch Hrynkiw on defense who threw many bone jarring hits during this contest as well as contributing in mainly a blocking role on offense. The big story in this game was Brenn Roberge, he was the leading rusher and the Bombers selection for MVP of the game. Roberge ran for over 200 yards on the day and cashed in for 3 majors. Indeed this was an impressive display for a rookie running back in our league. The Riders however didn't go down without a fight. They clawed their way to the goal line on a few occassions but came up just short. In the 4th quarter the Riders finally managed to break the plane and score their first major of the game. That is where it would stop. The Riders were led by Tanner Davies who ran around, over and through defenders sacrificing his body all game long to try to get that extra inch. The Riders showed no sign of quit and battled hard right to the end. All in all this was a great matchup between two great teams and one had to win.
Bantam City Champions --- Colts WIN... Colts WIN!
In Thursday nights city final the 1st place Falcons faced off against the 3rd place Colts. The Colts managed to come out and put some points on the board. 13 points total as it turns out was 12 more than they needed to become city champs. The Falcons scratched and clawed their way to the endzone on numerous occassions but came up just short as the Colts defense used the bend but don't break method to withstand the potent attack of the Falcons. Leading they way for the Colts was Brandon Cannon who had a tremendous game offesively. On the other side of the ball the key cog was Keegan Arnyek who played extremely well and came up just short of a final attempt to put some points on the board. With time expired he danced his way down the sidelines and broke numerous tackles and just as he saw daylight Jelani Wilson pushed back and made another touchdown saving tackle. All in all this was a great battle with the Colts coming away with the hardware.
